Well, we finally got to try Dag’s after a false start a few months ago. We arrived then to a “closed” sign (I forget the circumstances), so we went to Kensingtons across the street. THAT was a mistake.
Back to Dag’s. Fine dining it’s not, but there’s something about the comfy vibe here that pleases. The very pleasant owner works by herself during the week, and her daughter helps out on the weekend. Despite the fact that she’s taking orders, working the cash, cooking and serving by herself, we’ve waited longer for 4 meals at plenty of fully staffed diners.
The coffee is excellent and free flowing, the breakfast was about average, and the price was right.
If you’re not in a hurry, and don’t mind ordering at the cash and getting your own coffee condiments, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dag’s.
NB It’s been a while since my last review, so I’m out of practice. I forgot to take pictures (imagine two fried eggs, home fries and toast), so forgive the Google Street View of the exterior.
