Dunn’s Famous, 284 King St. W.

Dunn’s is a Montreal-based deli founded in 1927. True, it’s not technically a Diner, Dive or Greasy Spoon, but it serves a standard breakfast priced like one, so it counts!

 

 

 

I snoozed and “loozed” (my memory). It’s been a couple weeks since 2 friends and I ate breakfast here, but I do remember that I had the “Jackie Mason”, which was eggs and onions, home fries, toasted bagel and coffee. It was very good.

One friend had the standard sunny side up brekky in which he found no fault, and the other had the enchilada, “although it really wasn’t what (he) would recognize as an enchilada. More of an open ended burrito”. He enjoyed it though.

It was pretty slow at 9:30 on a Monday morning, and our server was quite attentive with the (average) coffee. I think he charged us a total of .50 for our endless refills. Not bad.

NB I seem to recall a side of lettuce and tomato which was mushy and inedible. Save the tomato until it’s in season. True, this isn’t a big deal, but it shows a lack of attention to detail.
